On March 1st, 2024, the Government of Canada announced a three-year extension to the Wine Sector Support Program (2024-25 to 2026-27), with an additional investment of up to $177 million.
The Program provides short-term financial support to Canadian wine licensees to help them adapt to ongoing and emerging challenges impacting the financial resilience and competitiveness of the wine industry. The Program provides non-repayable grant payments to licensed Canadian wineries based on their production of bulk wine fermented in Canada from domestic and/or imported primary agricultural products.
Applications for 2024-25 will be accepted from April 8, 2024 until May 24, 2024.
For this intake period, eligible wine must have been produced (completed initial fermentation) between April 1, 2023 and March 31, 2024. The Program’s eligibility criteria and parameters are detailed in full on its webpage.
The Application Form will be available to download on April 8, 2024 (found in Step 4 on the webpage). To apply, organizations must complete and submit the Application Form with the required documents. The intake period will close at 11:59 p.m. (Pacific Daylight Time) on May 24, 2024, unless otherwise announced on the Program’s webpage.
Note: A new application must be submitted to the Program each year. Applications submitted to the Program in previous years are not transferable and will not be considered for 2024-25 funding.
