In March 2024, the ministry announced a new 5-year Enhanced Replant Program that will provide up to $70 million to support wine grape, berry, and tree fruit producers to replace existing acreage with climate-resilient varieties that produce in-demand, premium fruit.

The Enhanced Replant Program will not be an extension of the Perennial Crop Renewal Program introduced last spring. The new program will feature distinct criteria, which will be developed with industry associations using information from sector opportunity assessments and industry feedback sessions.

Feedback sessions will be held in June and July 2024 to review program criteria and collect feedback from the farming community.
